Manufactured 1922 - 1991. Vent rib barrel with two bead sight, 2 3/4 chamber and full choke. Engraved casehardened action with a pheasant on the left face, and a gold inlaid woodcock on the right face. Both scenes are bordered with floral scroll engraving. The screws and forearm hardware are also engraved. The serial number on the receiver, barrel and forearm metal all match. High gloss finish extra fancy walnut beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with fancy fleur-de-lis checkering. The buttstock has had a high roll over comb added as well as an adjustable Morgan recoil pad. Gold colored initial oval on bottom of stock is marked "V/V/M". Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches. Includes a Browning takedown case with small tools.
Very good overall with 95% of the original blue finish on the barrel and 60% of the original casehardened finish on the frame. With small surface scratches and some minor nicks on the barrel. The frame has areas that have aged to a light silvery patina. Engravings are sharp and well detailed with brilliant gold inlay. The wood is fair as altered and repaired. With crisp checkering and attractive grain. The buttstock has areas of thinning revarnish, a small crack near the break lever and some slight separation between the original wood and the added comb. Needs minor work on the loose top-break lever.
