This is an example of a German G43 rifle as manufactured in 1944 at the Berlin-Lubecker Machine Factory with the wartime code of "duv". The left side of the receiver is marked with "G.43 duv 44.", "eagle/214" Waffenamt proof, a single firing proof and the serial number. It has the type two bolt cover with the reinforcing web, cocking knob on the left side and bolt hold-open latch along the right, along with the stamped action cover. The front sight is a hooded raised ramp and the rear sight is adjustable to 1200 meters. The pistol grip stock and handguard are the correct wartime laminated versions, that is serial numbered on the underside and has two "eagle/214" Waffenamt proofs on the right side of the buttstock. It is fitted with a G43 Sniper scope and mount. The left side of the scope is marked "GW ZF 4 /27194/ddx." and a triangle. The scope mount is a reproduction of a WWII version marked with an "eagle/359" proof. Includes an unmarked WWII cross-hatched leather sling, front sight hood, wartime magazine and rubber eyepiece.
Excellent rifle with 95% of the dark phosphate finish. Some light thinning finish on the barrel, handling marks on the operating handle and light spotting on the inside of the trigger guard. The wood is very fine with some small areas of Arsenal filler on the left side of the forearm area, scattered light indentations and general handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The optics are slightly hazy with some type of white mildew build up on the rubber eyepiece.
