The barrel has the two line address/patent dates marking on top, "S&W D.A. 45 on the left side and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the underside. The butt is roll-stamped "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" behind the lanyard swivel and "NO./124/443" in front of it. The left side of the frame has the ordnance bomb and "eagle/S21" proof. Cylinder numbered to gun and marked with an "eagle/S24" proof. Frame and crane both have the assembly number 96150. Fitted with smooth walnut grips (right panel numbered to gun). Comes with 4 half moon clips.
Excellent. The revolver retains 90% original blue finish showing some thinning to brown (heavier thinning on the grip straps). The hammer and trigger retain 80% of the original case colors. The grips are very fine with a few minor pressure dings along the bottom edges and some scattered minor pressure dents overall. Mechanically excellent.
