According to the included correspondence, this pistol was produced circa 1991-1993 by William Buttner. An electrician by trade with training in welding, machining and blacksmithing, Buttner was also an amateur gunsmith, both performing repairs and building the occasional firearm of his own. In 1991, he set to work on this Luger, selecting titanium as his medium for a bright, high polish rust free finish. Two years later, Buttner had a working 22 Short copy of the Luger; eight years later, when writing the correspondence, he was still cursing a number of the small components, as the assorted small hand-fit parts of Georg Luger's design became almost unmanageable when taken down to the scale in question, declaring his design a "pain in the rear end". Aside from the serial number, no markings are present, it has with a length of 5 3/4 inches and a height of 3 3/4 inches. The grips and magazine base are hardwood, and straw and niter blue finish is on some of the small parts. The magazine body was also fabricated from aluminum.
Excellent with a few small handling marks on the bright surface, a light scuff on the underside of the barrel, and over half the straw color and niter blue overall. The grips are very good with a small chip absent from the left panel and a few small dents. Mechanically excellent.
