Description:A licensed copy of the Beretta Model 1951 pistol, the Tariq was produced in Iraq starting in 1981, being used to arm the Iraqi Armed Forces, Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard, the post-liberation Iraq Police and Kurdish forces. Fixed sights with a one-line Farsi legend on the left side of the slide, "TARIQ 9mm MADE IN IRAQ" on the right and a pair of nickel plated "warrior" medallions on the ribbed wraparound black plastic grips. Notes from the consignor state that the pistol was a veteran bring-back but did not specify Desert Storm or Iraqi Freedom.
Rating Definition:Fine with 60% thin blue finish on the barrel and small parts as well as a mixed gray and plum patina on the slide and frame. The grips are good with a number of scuffs and dings. Mechanically excellent.
