Description:

This Adam's "Self-Cocking" revolver is marked "ADAMS' PATENT. No 32,620. R." on the right side of the frame, "32,620/R." on the cylinder, "6026" on the top of the grip and rear of the frame, and London proofs along with the London Armoury Company's "L.A.C." stamp on the upper left barrel flat. It has dovetailed blade front and integral notch rear sights, a loading arm on the left side of the frame, and a checkered walnut grip with plain grip cap.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The revolver retains 40% of the original blue finish with gray and brown patina on the balance, scattered marks and scratches and some patches of minor pitting. The grip is very good with mostly crisp checkering with some minor scrapes. Mechanically needs attention as the hammer spring is broke. (Loose and absent parts).

Catalog Page: 41
Class: Antique
Description:

This revolver has scroll work and border engraving and is marked "No. 1496 PATENT" on the left side of the frame at the bottom. The cylinder is marked "1 2 3 4 5". No maker's marks are visible, but the proofs on the cylinder appear to be of Birmingham origin and the engraving patterns are very similar to those seen on many English revolvers from the second half of the 19th century. It has a dovetailed blade front and frame notch rear sights and is fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has some traces of the original blue finish with primarily a once cleaned gray-brown patina with some light scratches and minor marks. The cylinder wedge screw head is partially obliterated. The grips are very good sharp checkering and some minor scuffs. Mechanically fine, slightly loose, with mostly clear markings and engraving.
