Manufactured in 1926. Correct elevation adjustable Partridge blade front sight and square notch windage adjustable rear sight, the two-line Hartford address and patent dates on top of the barrel, "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT" on the left, "VP" and "8" on the left trigger guard shoulders and the Rampant Colt on the side plate. Fine, sharp checkered is present on the hammer, trigger, front strap and back strap, and the Rampant Colt grips show a combination of diamond-shaped accent flats and angular borders to the checkering panels.
Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish showing a few scattered extremely small spots of pitting on the barrel and cylinder, minimal edge wear and a few light handling marks. The elevation and windage screws retain 100% of the fire blue finish. The hammer sides and face of the breech show evidence of multiple discharges suggesting that the arm was actively used but very well treated. The grips are sharply checkered with a few small dents. Mechanically excellent.
