Description:Manufactured in 1897 with a blade front sight, a filler block in the rear sight mount, and a tang mounted peep sight. The top barrel flat has the two line address ahead of the rear sight and "32-40" at the breech. The upper tang markings are covered by the peep sight mount. It features a full magazine and is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.
Rating Definition:Fine. The rifle retains 50% of the original blue finish with some finish absent in patches of the barrel, the edges of the frame, the forend cap, on the lever, and the buttplate. The exposed areas have a gray/brown patina with some oxidation and various marks throughout. The wood is good with a golden coloration on the right side fo the butt, a darker forearm, the right side is more weathered, and there are various minor marks, scratches, dings, and dents. Mechanically excellent.
