Manufactured in 1879, this Second Model production features the dust cover guide rail secured on the top of the receiver with two screws and dust cover has the serrated style finger grips on the rear sides. Blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights with a barrel stamped with the two line address/patent dates marking on the top flat. The upper tang is stamped "MODEL 1873" in a fancy font. It has a full length magazine, smooth forearm, and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).
Good. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled brown/gray patina. The wood is also good with a few scattered minor dings, scratches, and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
