This non-firing reproduction of the famous German MP40 sub machinegun was produced with a combination of correct period parts and modern cast aluminum parts. The lower receiver, trigger group, safety toggle, stock, rear sight, magazine, bolt handle, barrel retaining nut, and barrel are German marked and some have the Nazi eagle crest. The upper receiver and bolt are cast and milled aluminum. The stock is the folding tubular steel design with a folding buttplate. It has original, period, correct bakelite side plates and grips. The rear sight is a fixed two leaf configuration that functions in combination with the hooded front blade. Includes unmarked leather sling.
Fine as custom made overall with traces of original finish primarily in protected areas on original parts. The balance has aged to a smooth nearly uniform brown patina with some areas of edge wear. The side plates are very good, with several small chips present. The grips are excellent. It is mechanically inoperable. You get the looks of the real deal without the liability of Class III ownership!
