This bronze casting is based on the original marble bust sculpted by the great artist Michelangelo (Buonarroti Italian 1475-1564) that is kept in the Vatican Museum. This wonderful bust shows a stern, forward looking man with all the draping of success before him. The obverse of this bronze has the Vatican seal indicating that the above is true. A true masterpiece by one of the world's best sculptors. Stands 18 inches tall and sits on an 8 inch wide x 8 inch deep x 5 inch tall beveled black marble plinth. Weighs 53 pounds.

Very good with a dark patina overall and some minor areas of wear. The bust is not firmly secured to the base.
