Description:

This is a unique and probably a "one of a kind" DWM Model 1920 Commercial/Prototype Artillery Luger pistol. It is theorized that this pistol was developed by DWM for Stoeger in New York as a prototype artillery style Luger. This rare example is devoid of any serial numbers, military or commercial markings and has no firing proofs. The only markings on the pistol is the "DWM" logo on the front toggle and "GELADEN" marked on the extractor. It does have the old style 1906/20 frame with the wide trigger guard and trigger (not as wide as the 1900 series) with the new coil spring, but still retains the grip safety with no stock lug on the rear of the frame. It has the old style short barrel extension with the standard breech block and toggles. This rare/unusual early Luger has the all blue metal finish with the various small parts straw colored. It is complete with two nickel plated magazine with the unmarked wooden bases. It is housed in a current production walnut display case that has the pistol and spare magazine that has two other compartments probably for a ammunition block and cleaning equipment, (all not included with this pistol).

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 99% of the blue finish overall. The small parts retain 98% of their refurbished straw colors showing some slight fading on the take down lever. The grips are excellent with nice distinct sharp checkering. A very unusual/rare Luger, certainly worth doing more research on.
