Marked "ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCESTER. MASS. U.S./LEN'S PT'S JAN. 13. DEC. 15, 1857. SEPT. 7.18" on the left side on the barrel. Note the variation in barrel marking due to placement of the rolling dies. Matching numbers on the frame, both grip panels, cylinder pin and cylinder. The pinch front sight has a dovetail base. The rear sight is a notch in the nose of the hammer. The trigger guard/loading lever is retained by a catch in the spur on the frame behind the trigger.
Fine. The revolver retains 30% plus original blue finish with the balance a crisp smooth brown patina. The grips are fine with most of the original varnish, a series of very shallow gouges on the bottom, a missing sliver of wood and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
