Excellent. The pistol retains 95% original blue finish showing some minor thinning with some light pitting on the slide. The grips are excellent with some minor handling marks.
Slide is marked "P.38 cyq" over a struck "573" with the serial number above the letter "S" towards the safety. Right side of slide has a Spreewerke "Eagle/88" proof. Barrel lug has the serial number on the front and left side (stamped over "cyq"), with "By" on the right side. The serial number along an East German wreath-AB9 marking on the left side of the frame. Two East German starburst markings on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted with ribbed grips. The spine of the magazine is marked with an "Eagle/WaA" proof over "jvd."
Arsenal refurbished. The pistol retains 90% of the blue finish with the frame turning to a plum patina. The grips are very fine with a missing surface chip near the bottom (right panel) and some minor handling marks. Trigger does not always reset properly when action is cycled.
