According to the included factory letter, this revolver was part of a 5-piece shipment to the Townley Metal & Hardware Company of Kansas City, Missouri on August 10, 1904, in 41 Colt caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, blue finish and "Not Listed" grips. Blade front and notch rear sights, with "41 COLT." on the left side of the barrel, two-line Hartford address on top, two-line patent dates on the frame next to the circled Rampant Colt, and matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard and grip straps. Fitted with a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt imprints at the tops.
Very good as period refinished, with 90% of the blue, showing bright wear along the high edges, areas of brown and gray patina, and mild handling marks overall. Traces of bright case color are present on the frame, concentrated in the low areas. The grips are very good with some flat spots and dents. Mechanically very good.
