Produced in 1915. Blade front and notch rear sights, with "1915" on the chamber, "DWM" on the toggle, proper safety and extractor markings, matching full numbers on the barrel, extension and frame, and matching partial numbers on the takedown catch, sideplate, trigger, sear, safety, toggles, extractor, breechblock and firing pin. With a black leather Otto Sindel 1915 dated flap holster, with a wood based nickel magazine numbered to match the gun. At some point the pistol and holster suffered extensive damage, possibly from bomb fragments or automatic weapons fire; the holster shows three entry holes on the back surface and a single large exit hole through the flap, which corresponds with areas of tearing and deformation on the magazine and backstrap.
Battle damaged relic with 95% original blue finish, showing some wear along the high edges and areas of gray patina. Some components have been displaced, including the grips and mainspring assembly. Mild scuffs and tears are visible on the holster, in addition to the noted holes. If this Luger could tell the story, what a story it could tell!
