Manufactured in 1927. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the standard model, Winchester Trade Mark, Nickel Steel and caliber designation, the Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. Marble beaded blade front and folding ladder rear sights, special order 2/3 length magazine and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip shotgun style buttstock with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate.
Very fine. The carbine retains 25% original blue finish concentrated mainly in the protected areas of the barrel and magazine with a smooth brownish patina on the balance. The receiver has a smooth brownish gray patina. There is some strong original case colors in the protected areas of the hammer and lever with a smooth grayish brown patina on the balance. The wood has been freshened with a coat of varnish some time ago and remains fine with a few minor dents and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
