Description:

1) Priming horn, 6 inches long, with a flat blonde horn body, top, base and long spring loaded tip cover, all silver with geometric designs and floral patterns. A small silver fitted rawhide thong is attached to the cover hinge. 2) Carved horn double-flask, 17 3/4 inches long, made from two horns fastened together at the bases with heavy staples, with carved geometric patterns, scrollwork, and scenes of hunters with bows and dogs taking down wild game. Each end is fitted with a metal spigot and endcap, and a red cord hanger is attached to the tops. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, with some light handling marks. The silver components show an attractive color. 2) Good, with some light chipping on the horn and rust on the metal. The caps are stuck.
