A small silver fitted rawhide thong is attached to the cover hinge. 2) Carved horn double-flask, 17 3/4 inches long, made from two horns fastened together at the bases with heavy staples, with carved geometric patterns, scrollwork, and scenes of hunters with bows and dogs taking down wild game. Each end is fitted with a metal spigot and endcap, and a red cord hanger is attached to the tops. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection
