Five round cylinder, pinned blade front sight, notch rear sight, all blue finish with casehardened hammer and fitted with smooth walnut grips. Complete in an original green hinged lid box with picture label that reads "SMITH & WESSON/picture of revolver/No. 38./Automatic Ejector./SPRINGFIELD, MASS.". The inside of the lid has the "Directions for Use" label affixed, which is marked in red at the top "M.W. ROBINSON Gen'l Agent, 79 Chambers St., NEW YORK". Robinson was Smith & Wesson's largest distributor.
Fine. The revolver retains 75% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. There is a small amount of minor spotting and a few minor dings. The grips are very fine with a few minor dents and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is very good. The box is very good with typical wear on the exterior and some staining on the inside, otherwise excellent. The picture label is still very good.
