The slide has the standard "byf/44" marking on the left side. Scarce large early variant "Eagle/135" proofs are present and visible "p" block serial numbers are matching. Note that byf/44 P38 serial numbers were a continuation of the byf43 sequence. The "p" block serial number range was the first serial number block used on byf/44 code P38s. Fitted with a set of ribbed grips. The "P.38v" marked magazine is without an acceptance proof.
Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue on barrel and slide). The balance of pistol retains 85% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are excellent with a few very minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
