Description:

This is a fantastic example of an all original pre-WWII German Police Luger with two matching magazines and the original matching number police holster. These rare Lugers all fall into the "e" and "f" serial number block with a total of only 600 produced in 1935. These were some of the true first Police contract Lugers made under the Nazi regime. This example is even rarer in that it still retains the original, unaltered sear safety and magazine safety spring, as shown on page 215 of the excellent book "Third Reich Lugers" by Jan Still. These are very rare because usually the lower front edge of the magazine safety spring was modified by clipping it off or completely removed as Mauser later deleted this feature in production. This example correctly lacks the later Eagle K or C proofmarks. The top of the chamber has the "G" date for 1935 with the "S/42" toggle markings and standard safety and extractor markings. The barrel extension has the early "droop wing eagle/63" proofs next to the droop wing firing proof. The barrel also has the correct early "Eagle/63" and Eagle firing proof on the barrel and left side of the breechblock. As noted this fantastic pistol has all matching numbers to include both magazines and the holster. The magazines are the original early type 1 chrome plated police magazines, marked "Schmeisser/Haenel" on the spine with the aluminum bases numbered in the police style. The holster is a beautiful, all original, brown leather Police model that is correctly stamped on the back "A. FISCHER/BERLINC2/1934" with the pistol serial number "9647" stamped in the upper right corner.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% plus original blue finish with only minor blue loss on the side plate hump and on the very front edge of the frame rails and muzzle. The various small parts all retain 80% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also excellent with nice sharp checkering on both sides with only minor handling marks. The Police holster is fine with minor scuffs and scratches on the outside of the leather with crisp sharp markings on the back side with nice tight stitching overall. Just a beautiful all original early 1935 Police Luger pistol rig.
