The top of the barrel is marked "JOHN ADAMS CENTRAL MARKET PLACE, NEW YORK N.Y." and the front receiver ring has the standard Springfield Model 1903 marking. The bolt is electro penciled with the matching serial number. Raised ramp blade front sight, provisions for a rear receiver sight and equipped with a Leupold 2x7 Vari-X II scope on a Griffin & Howe side mount. The floor plate is relief engraved with rams in a mountain scene and the trigger guard is engraved with a floral design. Mounted with a one-piece, checkered walnut Mannlicher style pistol grip stock with a horn forend cap, plastic grip cap, cheekpiece, serrated and floral engraved steel buttplate with trap, sling swivel eyes and silver initial oval.
Very good as customized with traces of blue finish mixed with a smooth brown patina on the barrel and 80% blue finish remaining on the receiver. The bolt handle is bright. The stock is very good with numerous small light pressure dents on the left side just ahead of the wrist, and overall a few minor dings and handling marks, with crisp checkering. The action is excellent. The scope is also excellent with clear optics.
