Extremely Fine Factory Engraved E. Remington & Sons Elliot Derringer Pepperbox Pistol with Ivory Grips
This pistol was manufactured between 1863 and 1888. There is extensive floral scroll acid etched factory engraving on the 5 barrel cluster. The frame is factory scroll engraved. The top of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y./ELLIOT'S PATENTS MAY 29, 1860-OCT.1, 1861". Serial number on the barrel and frame match. Fitted with smooth ivory grips.
Extremely fine with 70% original silver finish on the frame and 95% on the barrel cluster. There is a dark patina on most of the silver with some of the silver on the underside of the barrel protected by the frame. There is flaking around the barrel markings. The grips are fine with some stress cracks in the left grip and a nice patina overall.
