Manufactured circa 1880s with total quantity estimated at several hundred. This revolver features a .22 caliber, eight shot cylinder and a .32 caliber rimfire single shot center barrel which also acts as the cylinder pin. It has a hammer striker which pivots for selective firing with the revolver or the single-shot center barrel. The barrel pivots downward for loading. A few specimens, such as this one, are marked "MONARCH" on the top strap/barrel latch. The sides of the frame and the back strap feature a broad floral scroll engraving, with a dot/zigzag line and floral pattern incorporated on the right side of the frame. The sides of the barrel have a dot/zigzag line pattern with the .32 caliber barrel also featuring an arrow engraving at the muzzle. The top strap, barrel latch and cylinder are also engraved with the dot/zigzag line pattern with a geometric engraving on the barrel rib. The cylinder is numbered to the gun. Fitted with checkered grips featuring an ornate embossed pattern at the top.

Very fine. The revolver retains 75% original finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some light pitting on the cylinder. The slightly undersize grips are very good with the left panel having aged to a brown color and some wear in the checkering. Cylinder is slightly loose.
