This is an exception example of a high quality French flintlock pocket pistol with silver mounts. The lock is marked "A St ETIENNE". Part octagon barrel with cannon muzzle, iron parts finished bright, relief engraved silver mountings with a ship on the side plate, a floral design on the trigger guard and bird's head butt cap. Wooden ram rod with silver plated brass tip secured with a silver single split pipe and mounted with a walnut stock with floral design carving behind the barrel tang.
Very fine. The barrel remains bright, with a smooth silver gray on the remaining metal parts. The silver has a natural aged patina. The stock is also very fine, the flats remain sharp and overall there are a few minor dents and handling marks. The lock marking is clear. The action is excellent.
