Description:Made in 1874. Fixed sights, with the short one line italic Hartford address (broken "o" and "A") flanked by crosses on top of the barrel, with "bolster" style housing, bulls-eye ejector head, "P" stamp on the underside and Orville W. Ainsworth's "A" stamp. The frame has the two line September and July dates next to an upside-down "U.S." stamp. Matching numbers on the barrel, frame, cylinder and grip straps, along with Ainsworth "A"s on the cylinder and grip straps. Smooth one-piece grips, with an "OWA" cartouche on the left side.
Rating Definition:Good as refinished (re-marked, stretched barrel), showing a mixed artificial gray patina overall, mild handling marks and scattered pitting. Traces of blue are visible in the protected areas of the trigger guard. Grips are good, cleaned with mild dents, chips and rounding of the heel and toe. Half-cock needs adjustment, otherwise mechanically fine.
