Description:Made in the late 1850s and early 1860s, the bulk of production was consumed by Government contracts. Standard "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK." address on right side of frame, "STARRS PATENT JAN. 15, 1856." on the left. Blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with the standard quick-release thumbscrew on the frame and double action trigger with moving block. Matching numbers on the frame, hammer and cylinder, with a smooth one piece grip.
Rating Definition:Fine, with 30% plus of the original blue finish, concentrated on the rear of the frame, with a mixed brown patina on the remainder, bright edge wear, and scattered handling marks. Grips are also fine, with some minor dents. Mechanically excellent.
