Description:This is a large holster pistol (of military pattern) with swamped brass barrel, crown "V" and "P" proofs on the upper left side, and "HW Mortimer London (illegible) 90" on top. Lock plate is marked "H.W./ MORTIMER", with a sliding half-cock safety at the rear. Full length stock, with brass fittings and a horn-tipped wood ramrod. Consignor notes state that this arm was part of the collection of Copenhagen's Royal Danish Naval Museum, and was given as a prize at a rifle competition in Otterup, circa 1951.
Rating Definition:Good with a mixed patina on the brass and a gray patina on the steel components. A crack is present on the rear trigger guard finial, with mild dents and handling marks overall. Stock is also good, with a mended chip at the tip, a few cracks, and scattered dents. Mechanically very good.
