The serial number on the barrel extension has the "Ku" suffix. The meaning of "Ku" has long been a subject of speculation. Some have concluded that the "Ku" stands for "Kummerrer" or substandard or mis-sized since these pistols were assembled for the Luftwaffe from leftover or mis-sized parts. Others have concluded the "Ku" is a stylized "LZA" that means "Luftwaffe Zeug Amt". Chamber dated "41" and toggle marked "42", with Ku proof on breechblock, barrel, and barrel extension and eagle/655 proof on barrel. Left side of frame is marked "P.08". Safety position and extractor marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Matching full or partial numbers on pistol, with barrel and toggle link not serialized. Checkered grips and matching blue magazine with aluminum base.
Very fine. The pistol retains 75% blue finish showing some minor thinning with some minor holster type wear. There is limited very light pin point pitting near the barrel. The grips are very good with a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
