This one of the approximately 5,000 Model 1906 DWM Lugers made for the Royal Portuguese Army. The Royal Portuguese Crest of Manuel II is present on top of the chamber, with the DWM scroll marking on the toggle and "CARREGADA" is marked on the extractor. A triangle in a circle is marked on the left barrel extension, rear of frame and barrel underside. Full serial number on the frame and barrel, with the partial serial number (07) on the takedown latch, side plate, and rear toggle link. Blue finish with straw colored small parts, grip safety, replacement nickel magazine with aluminum base and checkered walnut grips. Complete with leather holster. The inside of the holster is stamped "A.E."
Very fine. The pistol retains 75% faded original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the grip straps and a mottled gray patina on the rear of the frame, with some minor edge wear and loss at the muzzle. The small parts retain 20% original straw color. There is some minor spotting (mostly on the grip straps) and some scattered minor pitting. The grips are very good with a few areas of minor wear and some minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is good as modified internally.
