Marked in script "KETLAND / (script) & Co" on the lock plate in front of the hammer and the top of the barrel is marked with three faded proofmarks. The barrel, trigger, lock, barrel tang, hammer, frizzen, pan and spring are iron, the remaining parts are brass including a skeletonized left side plate with zig zag border. Flower engraved on the trigger guard, decorative finial and light bordering on the buttcap and thumb oval.
Good. The metal surfaces have a mottled silver gray patina with some light oxidation on the barrel. The brass has an aged patina. The rear ramrod pipe is loose, the ramrod is absent and the frizzen spring is broken with most of the upper portion absent. The stock is good with exception of a clean repaired break on the forearm and overall some scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The stock remains solid. The lock markings are clear. The action is very good.
