The included signed letter from a pervious owner states that this rifle was acquired from the Sako factory by Master German Gunsmith Heinz Fabian of Egganstein, Germany. This rifle was a factory prototype to determine the practicality and appeal of manufacturing the .243 caliber Forest rifle with a Mannlicher style stock using matching wood and ox horn over the normally exposed forward section of the barrel. The rifle has hooded ramp front and adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked "MADE IN FINLAND" on the left and "SAKO / Cal..243" on top. Equipped with a Tasco 3-9x40 scope. Mounted with a checkered walnut pistol grip stock with sling swivel studs and a SAKO plastic buttplate. The two piece forearm has an ox horn cap. Complete with cross-stitched brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The rifle retains virtually all original finish with a small spot of minor oxidation on the left side of the barrel and slight handling marks overall. The wood is excellent with only a few minor dings and dents and light handling marks overall. The scope is excellent, the optics are clear.
