A rare privately printed 21" x 28" poster illustrated by an unknown artist. Is the sixth poster from the Schulte Cigar Stores Thrift Stamp Series (poster 1 through 5 are also in this auction). Text reads "THE BROWNING / UNCLE SAM'S OFFICIAL MACHINE GUN" on the top and "FIRES 400 SHOTS A MINUTE / FIRED 39,000 SHOTS WITHOUT A BREAK / A / THRIFT / STAMP a day / WILL HELP TO KEEP IT BARKING". The colored graphic image is two soldiers manning a Browning machine gun with the following text, "BELT HOLDS / 250 CARTRIDGES / GUN WEIGHS / 34 1/2 POUNDS". Background is a setting or rising sun.
Near excellent. Some border paper loss, with a few minor border tears, a couple fold lines near top edge and minor rippling/creases from being rolled. There are some minor stains, but the colors are vivid and bright.
