A wood framed 46 1/2" tall by 36 1/2" wide full color WWI Marine Corps recruiting poster illustrated by the famous wartime artist James Montgomery Flagg. Flagg is perhaps best known for his pointing Uncle Sam WWI poster with the "I Want You" caption that was reissued during WWII. This poster depicts a young red-headed businessman, hat on the ground and stripping his suit coat off to get into a fighting stance. On the ground at his feet is a folded newspaper blaring the headline "HUNS KILL WOMEN/AND CHILDREN". The top of the poster reads "TELL THAT TO THE MARINES!/AT 22 TREMONT ROW". The poster is signed "JAMES MONTGOMERY FLAGG".

Near very good. Some moderate tears, minor rippling from being rolled and some fold creases near the top and bottom edges. There is a 2" x 7" area of discoloration at the top right corner and some mild stains, overall the colors remain vivid and bright.
