Description:As manufactured by Springfield Armory during WWII, and later rebuilt. The rear of the receiver is marked "U.S. RIFLE/ CAL. 30 M1 /SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" over the serial number, the barrel is a unmarked military replacement that is stamped toward the front, "BLUE SKY/ARLINGTON, VA." The bolt is marked "D-28287-19SA/ A - 9", the receiver is marked "D28291 32", the slide is marked "6535382 SA" and the trigger group is marked "D28290-12-SA". Fixed blade front sight and adjustable peep rear sight. The commercial replacement walnut stock has no proof marks and is with sling swivels and a checkered steel trapdoor buttplate. Arlington Ordnance Company box with hand-written note in red on top lid "Springfield M1 Grand (sic) 3006/SN 2259112", containing rifle and papers.
Rating Definition:Arsenal/Importer refurbished, with 98% arsenal reparkerized finish with edge and high spot wear. Forearm is excellent and lighter in color than balance of furniture. Stock is a current made replacement and is near mint with minor denting and handling marks. Heavy cardboard box is very good.
