Description:

Manufactured from 1883 to 1907 with approximately 10,000 in total production. The medium weight 34" full octagon barrel is fitted with a brass blade front and adjustable rear sights as well as a long range tang sight. The top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y." and the bottom flat ahead of the forearm is marked "45. 2 7/8". Matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel under the forearm and on the lower tang. Double set triggers, blued barrel with a casehardened receiver and fitted with a smooth forearm with an iron forend cap and checkered round knob pistol grip stock with an iron buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains approximately 55% original blue finish with high edge wear, areas of smooth plum patina and some small areas of light spotting. The trigger guard has a smooth dark brown patina. The receiver has a smooth mottled gray patina on the left side and the right side shows approximately 40% original case colors. The buttplate has a dark patina with light to moderate pitting on the heel and toe. The wood is fine overall with several minor dings, chips and scratches in the forearm and a few minor pressure dents and dings in the buttstock. Mechanically fine.
