The top barrel flat is marked "JAS HARPER MAKER", the bottom flat is marked with two proofmarks and the cylinder is marked with a proofmark over each chamber. The sides of the frame, top of the hammer, backstrap and butt are lightly floral scroll engraved. The frame, hammer and trigger guard are casehardened and the remaining parts blue. Fitted with two piece checkered walnut grips.

Period refinished. The barrel has a mix of brown and dark smooth patina. The cylinder has been cleaned bright. The hammer, trigger guard and frame retain 75% of the bright to faded original case colors. The grips arevery fine with a small moderate dent on the right panel, light handling marks and crisp checkering. The engraving is crisp and clear.
