"ADDRESS SHARPS & HANKINS PHILADELPHIA PENN" in the flute on top of the barrel. The right side of the frame is marked "C. SHARPS PATENT / JAN. 25 1859". This was the first type of Sharps & Hankins pistol. The firing pin is missing. It was of the type mounted in the frame, with the threaded plate behind it. It has the extractor but no interlock.
Good with 40% blue on the barrels and faint traces of casehardening colors on the frame. The left grip is missing a small chip at the bottom, both are replacements. Mechanically needs work. PROVENANCE Red Jackson
