Manufactured in 1889. Fixed front sight with German silver blade and adjustable semi buckhorn rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked: "-MANUFACTUED BY THE- / -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN.CONN. U.S.A.-" ahead of the rear sight and "45 - 90 W.C.F." behind the rear sight. Model designation is on the upper tang with serial number on the lower tang with the early two line patent marking: "PAT. OCT. 14. 1884. / JAN. 20. 1885.-" The receiver, hammer, forend cap and buttplate were casehardened. Full magazine with smooth oiled walnut straight grip stock and steel crescent buttplate.
Very good plus. The barrel and magazine have a smooth brown patina, about 50% of the receiver has silvered out and the remaining metal parts have a smooth dark patina some light rust on the buttplate. The wood is very good overall scattered minor dings and dents. All of the markings are clear. The action is very good.
