Originally manufactured in 1979, this Colt Python revolver was subsequently beautifully embellished by FEGA and Colt Master Engraver Michael W. Dubber. He has previously served as president of FEGA, as well as on the board of directors, and has won the Colt Collectors Association's Howard Dove Award for best engraved Colt at their regional shows seven times. The included certificate of authenticity with this revolver lists it by serial number and confirms the gun was engraved by Dubber. The engraving features approximately 85% coverage, beautifully executed floral scroll engraving on all the major components as well as delicately inlaid gold borders, model marking on the barrel, and Rampant Colt on the left of the frame. The one-line Colt address is marked on the right of the barrel while the two-line model and caliber marking is on the left. The left of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is on the frame and crane. Dubber's "M. Dubber" signature is engraved on the bottom of the ejector rod housing. It is fitted with a blade front sight, adjustable notch rear sight, and a pair of diamond pattern checkered imitation ivory grips. Includes a hardwood case fitted for the revolver and two engraved screwdrivers with hardwood handles.
Excellent as masterfully upgraded by Michael Dubber, retains 99% plus of the blue finish and gold inlay with only the slightest handling marks, faint traces of a cylinder turn line, and crisp engraving. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case and screwdrivers are excellent with only the slightest handling evidence. A gorgeous Colt Python embellished by one of Colt's master engravers!
