Built with blued Krupp steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked "1620SL No. 8", standard markings, small wedges of scroll at the breech, 2002 dated German proof marks, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the coin finished true sidelock action with Greener crossbolt and intercepting sears which displays scroll engraving surrounding two engraved game scenes consisting of a German short haired pointer flushing a pair of quail on the left and four woodcocks in flight on the right. The engraving is signed "O. Weiss" for Merkel Master Engraver Olaf Weiss. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, raised rib cocking indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a beautifully and multi-point checkered forend with engraved forend iron and a straight grip stock with black leather covered recoil pad. Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, 97% original coin finish, minor handling evidence, a few patches of light oxidation on the right of the action, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
