This c. early 18th century flintlock pistol from Northern Italy, likely Brescia, features a three-stage smoothbore barrel with ribbed breech section signed "* LAZARINO * COMINAZZO *" on top. The rounded lock has "P S/L" signed towards the center and some scroll designs. The mounts are steel and feature scroll accents, a trefoil finial on the trigger guard, a scrolling serpent side plate, "RR" inscribed wrist escutcheon with a coronet, and grotesque mask pommel cap. The highly figured maple stock has raised relief scroll carving.
Fine with silver-gray patina overall, distinct designs and markings, and minor oxidation. The professionally restored stock is very good with cracks and repairs, crisp carving, and stunning figure. Mechanically fine.
