Manufactured in 1982. Dual white bead sights on the matte, vent rib barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors and chokes marked "**/*" (modified/full). The French grey action features full coverage leafy scroll engraving against shaded backgrounds surrounding highly detailed scenes of ducks in flight. Each duck is rendered in fine, detailed, semi-relief gold inlay, and the scenes themselves are bordered with gold wire inlay. The underside is inscribed and gold inlaid "BLACK DUCK ANAS RUBRIPES/036 of 500". The left side of the receiver is signed "R. Capece" and the right is signed "A. POES" for FN Engravers Rocco Capece and Augusta Poes. The trigger guard and tangs are engraved to match with a gold inlaid bust of a duck on the guard. Mounted on an excellently figured checkered walnut round-knob pistol grip stock and multi-point checkered forearm with matching engraved fittings with a skip-line checkered bare butt. Includes the original box and display case. This gun is collector serialized to the two previous and one following lots. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech 0.726/0.726 inches; choke constriction 0.017/0.033 inches; minimum wall thickness 0.040/0.036 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 1 oz.
Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and French grey finishes with limited handling marks and crisp engraving and stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine. Case is very good with a crack on the hinge wall of the lid.
