Manufactured c. 1999-2009 by Frank Centofante and masterfully engraved by Wayne D'Angelo. Centofante began making knives in 1968 and continued until around his death in 2009. He joined The Knifemakers Guild in 1971 and was a member of the board for 18 years, nine of those years serving as president. D'Angelo has been engraving for over 25 years, including being a Master Engraver for Smith & Wesson, and has now operated his personal business for many years. In the locked open position, the knife measures 7 1/4 inches overall with a 3 inch drop point blade featuring Centafonte's mark on the right with the Madisonville, Tennessee address. The bolster and pommel both feature D'Angelo's masterfully executed floral scroll engraving as well as a nude woman on the left of the bolster, below which is his signature. The grip scales are a smooth burled hardwood. Includes a generic soft case.
Excellent, the metal all almost entirely bright and the engraving crisp with almost no visible handling evidence on the blade. The grip scales are very fine with a faint hairline crack in the right scale. Its locking function works properly.
