Manufactured in 1948. Fitted with beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked on top with the Remington address on top, and with the caliber marking on the left side at the chamber. The barrel displays a light spray of floral scroll on top of the chamber and geometric motifs on the barrel collar. The receiver has been cut with central game scenes of a hare bounding through a wooded scene on the left above the model and serial number, and a squirrel on a broken tree limb reaching out for a cluster of acorns on the right. The game scenes are surrounded by floral scroll engraving on a punchdot background with geometric motifs created by the negative space and a floral bloom on top. Mounted in a beautifully figured multi-point checkered beavertail forend and pistol grip stock with Remington hard rubber grip cap, and checkered buttplate.
Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, and crisp engraving. Wood is very fine with minor dings and scratches, frosting near the butt, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. This would be the perfect way to fill that void in your Remington or rimfire collection!
