Manufactured in 1935 in a limited production run of 579, the Republican Guard Contract Luger used a 1906 pattern frame with a grip safety, smooth back strap and tapered pencil barrel. Fixed sights, "GNR" (Guarde Nacional Republicana) monogram on the chamber, Mauser banner on the toggle, extractor and lower safety area marked "CARREGADA" and "SEGURANCA" respectively, the left of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel have small "crown/crown/U" firing proofs, numbered in the military manner with all matching visible serial numbers, unnumbered checkered walnut grips and unnumbered nickel plated magazine with alloy base. Included with the lot is a correct Portuguese military GNR pattern black leather holster, cleaning rod, pin punch (bent end) and a takedown tool.

Excellent, retains 90% original blue finish with some light edge wear, a few small patches of light pitting, and some light freckling. Grips are also excellent with a few light handling marks and distinct checkering. Mechanically excellent. Holster is fine with some light cracking and supple leather.
