Blued steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front and two leaf (rear leaf absent) rear sight on the matted solid rib which is marked "E. JOPP, VORM. EMIL KERNER & SOHN, SUHL" (E. Jopp formerly Emil Kerner & Son), 2 3/8 inch wedges of oak leaf engraving at either breech, 1927 dated German proofs, and chambers with a single extractor. The coin finished sideclipped boxlock action displays attractive deep oak leaf engraving surrounding a trio of running wild boars on the right and a red stag with two hinds in a forested scene on the left. The rifle features bushed firing pins, cocking indicators, dual single set triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and a horn tip, and pistol grip stock with ebony drop point inlays, engraved steel grip cap, rear sling swivel, shadowline cheekpiece, and rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 1/8 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 5 oz.
Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, some scattered minor spotting on the barrels, some dried grease on the action. The wood is very good showing speckles of a yellow substance on the stock, a few dings and scratches, recoil pad hardened and deteriorating, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
