Description:

This pistol was manufactured in early 1938. The right side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE .380 HAMMERLESS" in two lines. The left side of the slide is marked "COLT'S PAT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT U.S.A. / PATENTED APR. 20, 1897 DEC 22, 1903". The Rampant Colt is located behind the slide serrations. The right side of the trigger guard bow has the assembler's number "75" stamped at the front. The opposite side has a "T" above the Colt "VP" triangle proof. Grips are checkered walnut with German silver Colt medallions. The magazine is nickel and marked "CAL.380 / COLT" on the bottom. Complete with the original hinged lid box with matching serial number in pencil on the bottom, cleaning brush, manual and "Shooting Suggestions" sheet. The pistol is also accompanied with a factory letter confirming the pistols configuration except grips which is marked " Not Listed" and that the pistol was one of five shipped to Wolf and Klar in Fort Worth, Texas on September 8, 1937.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The pistol retains 99% of the original factory nickel finish with some very light flaking on the left side of the frame behind and above the trigger, on the left side of the trigger bow and scattered light scratches. The grips are in new condition. The box is excellent with light edge and corner wear. The end labels are fully intact with some of the edges flaked off. The interior of the book shows only a few light scuffs. An exceptionally nice 1908 in the original box.
