Rare late production "hand stamped" General Motors/Inland Div production M1 carbine as manufactured in Dec 1944. This wonderful carbine comes with its original "matching numbered" cardboard shipping box and DD-1348 from Annistion Army Depot. The beautiful carbine has the very desirable late production "hand stamped" M1 marking on the receiver ring, that was done at the time when the Inland Division was manufacturing both standard M1 carbines and the fully automatic M2 carbines. This allowed the company to be able to supply which ever model the US Army required. This example has the various late features such as the milled rear sight, type III, "SI" marked barrel band/bayonet lug, the blued round "AI" marked bolt, with the type IV trigger housing with the backwards Inland markings. It has a "HI" marked hammer push button safety and E.I. marked magazine catch. It is fitted with a late low wood "IO" marked stock and a correct "HI" stamped four rivet-rivet handguard. As noted this carbine was originally sold by the US Army in April 1964 and was shipped Marietta Georgia. The original DD-1348 transfer receipt is still glued to the outside of the shipping box. It comes with an original green web sling, a 15 round "IW" marked magazine and a 50 round box of original GI, 30 Caliber Carbine ammunition, that was manufactured by the Western Cartridge Co..
