Receiver manufactured in 1934, replacement "SA/flaming bomb/4-36" marked barrel with "*" star gauge stamp on the muzzle, replacement World War II era rear sight base, "N.S." marked jeweled and polished bolt without electro-stenciled matching serial number, polished receiver rail, Lyman micrometer peep rear sight fixed to the right of the receiver, and "H" marked bayonet lug. Fitted with a 'high-hump' walnut handguard and a 'C' profile pistol grip walnut stock with door-less checkered buttplate and marked "S/S" in the magazine cutoff recess. Includes a "BOYT/44" marked M1907 leather sling.
Fine as professionally refinished and reconfigured as a M1903A1 National Match pattern rifle, retaining much of the finish with a hole in the buttplate, filing marks on the receiver, a modified magazine cutoff lever (to clear micrometer rear sight), brown patina/minor spotting visible on the bands, some light edge wear, dried grease, and light handling marks. The stock is very fine as sanded, cut on the right of the wrist to fit the Lyman rear sight, and re-oiled, with some minor scrapes and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
